The first to sprout!!

4 days and we have some sprouts.

Im sure they will all start sprouting by the end of the week.

Planting the seeds

We got the seed planted today, well me and the kids.

Not sure how this will go planting herbs the first part of October. They will be inside a greenhouse that will need some sort of small heater for the colder nights here in Huntsville. But there is a gas heater already built in, so it should not be a problem.

Soil for the pots

A few of the seeds we bought today at Lowes. I get a list together of everything that we planted and post it tomorrow.

We used recycled and used these planting pots that got left behind.

We also recycled these, they are filled about an half inch or so of pea gravel.

More to come later, just need to keep them warm and watered!

Here are a few pictures before we cleaned the place up.

As you can see in the last picture there is a heater that runs off propane inside for the winter months. As well as incandescent lighting to get more light on the herbs. I will get some pictures of the lights, and some others posted tomorrow.

We will be trying to grow about 15-20 different types of herbs for cooking or eating.
